Estonia has been warning Europe about Russia longer than most were willing to listen, and has been proved right. Margus Tsahkna, Foreign Minister since 2023 and holder of Estonia's Nordic-Baltic presidency in 2026, brings to this conversation the perspective of a country that shares a border with Russia, spends more than three percent of GDP on defence, and has no patience for ambiguity about what is at stake. In his annual foreign policy address earlier this year, he was blunt: an era has ended, and the rules that governed it may no longer apply. He joins us to make the case for what Europe must do now, on Ukraine, on sanctions, on enlargement, and on the kind of security architecture that does not repeat the mistakes of the past.
